What this course is (and is not)

This is the NYC DOB-approved 40-Hour Site Safety course (SAF-102) — the training you need if
you are looking to obtain a NYC DOB Site Safety Manager, Site Safety
Coordinator, or Construction Superintendent license. DOB requires this
40-hour course as a prerequisite for all three; the certificate you earn here is what qualifies
you to apply. It is not the 40-Hour Worker SST package, and it is not a self-paced
or on-demand course.

Schedule: five Fridays, live on Zoom

All five sessions are required. Each session runs 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Eastern
(America/New_York) and carries 480 required instructional minutes.

Credential disclosure

Successful completion earns a certificate for the NYC DOB-approved 40-Hour Site Safety Manager
course, listed in DOB’s current course-requirements catalog as 40-Hour Site Safety (SAF-102). That
certificate is a required prerequisite for the Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, and
Construction Superintendent licenses. It does not by itself confer any of those licenses or
guarantee eligibility or approval. DOB separately requires, depending on the license, a passing
examination, a valid Supervisor SST card, qualifying experience, and successful background and
fitness review. This course alone does not issue an SST card or an OSHA/DOL card.
