What is NYC DOB Training Connect, and how does it relate to SST cards?

Training Connect is NYC’s platform for managing SST records and validating SST cards. DOB-approved course providers must upload your course completions there, and issue SST cards via Training Connect.

Starting July 1, 2025, the Worker Wallet (a digital/physical card storage) will be the only worker card accepted on NYC job sites, replacing multiple individual cards.

How long is an SST card valid, and how do I renew?

SST cards last five years. To renew, you must complete the required refresher courses while your card is still active (you can’t renew after expiration).

What is Predictive Safety?

Predictive Safety is your no-bullshit NYC SST (Site Safety Training) provider. We deliver the fastest, lowest-cost training + physical worker/supervisor SST cards. We’re regulated by the NYC Department of Buildings and accredited by IACET.

What does IACET accreditation mean, and how does it benefit me?

IACET (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) is a respected accrediting body for continuing education. Being IACET-accredited means our training meets rigorous national standards for course design, learner assessment, quality management, and continuous improvement.

For you, it means:

  • Higher trust in the quality of our training

  • Assurance that instructional design, assessments, and outcomes are robust

  • Recognition that you earned credentials from a provider held to strong standards

Why should I use Predictive Safety instead of other providers?

  • Speed: we push your card issuance faster than anyone

  • Price: we’re the cheapest for equivalent SST training & cards in NYC

  • Transparency: no hidden fees or upsells

  • Authority: fully DOB-approved and IACET-accredited

  • Customer experience: we make it so good you’ll feel stupid to go somewhere else

What’s an SST card and who needs it?

Under NYC Local Law 196, construction workers on sites with a Site Safety Plan must hold an SST Worker card (40 hours). Supervisors and certain roles must hold an SST Supervisor card (62 hours).

Can my prior training or OSHA credits count toward SST?

Yes. If you completed training from a DOB-approved provider (or equivalency recognized by DOB) within the last 5 years, you may apply those hours toward your SST requirement.

What’s the difference between worker SST and supervisor SST?

  • Worker SST: 40 hours total (combining OSHA + DOB-approved courses)

  • Supervisor SST: 62 hours (prescribed courses + electives + OSHA 30 or equivalent)

How fast will I get my physical SST card with Predictive Safety?

We aim to be the fastest in the city. Immediately after you complete all required training and requirements, we process your card—no hidden queues, no unnecessary delays. Typically about a week, though if you reach out, we can even arrange for you to pick up the same day it gets processed with the NYCDOB Training Connect system.

Ordering and delivery

How do I cancel my order?

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via support@sst.nyc, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed

Returns

Can I complete part of the course now and finish later?

Yes. Our training is modular/flexible. As long as all required modules are finished before submission, you’re good. We don’t force rigid timelines.
