Supervisors Don’t Get a Pass. Renew Your Card.
You’re in charge. You took the 32-Hour Supervisor course. Got your card. Kept people from dying on your watch. Now that card’s expiring and the NYC DOB doesn’t care how many years you’ve been supervising – no current card, no compliance.
This is the 16-Hour SST Supervisor Renewal. It’s half the length of the original 32-Hour course because you already did the full training. This is the refresher version: updated regs, new case studies, same goal (everyone goes home alive).
📋 The Deal
- 16 hours – Way better than redoing the full 32-Hour course
- 100% online, self-paced – Take it whenever. No classroom. No scheduling nightmares.
- Mobile-friendly – Phone, tablet, laptop. Your call.
- 📸 Camera required – Phone or computer, doesn’t matter. We need to verify you’re actually taking the course. NYC DOB compliance thing.
- Renewed NYC DOB Supervisor SST Card – Valid for another 5 years
- Prerequisite: A current Supervisor SST card, or one inside the grace period – Never took the 32-Hour course? This isn’t for you. Go take that first.
🎯 What You’ll Cover
This isn’t the full 32-Hour curriculum again. It’s a targeted refresher on what matters:
- Regulatory updates – NYC DOB changes rules like they’re getting paid per update
- Site safety management – New tools, new methods, same responsibility
- Accident case studies – Real incidents, real consequences, real lessons
- Hazard recognition – You’ve seen a lot in 5 years. This formalizes it.
- Supervisor responsibilities under Local Law 196 – Because “I didn’t know” doesn’t hold up in court
- OSHA updates – They keep adding stuff. We keep tracking it.
🏗️ How It Works
- Check your card expiration – Expires within the next 12 months? You’re in the right place. Already expired? Read the FAQ first.
- Sign up – Email, payment, instant access. 2 minutes tops.
- Take the course – 16 hours. Go at your own pace. Pause when life happens.
- Pass the quizzes – You’re a supervisor. You know this. Multiple choice, open book.
- Get your renewed card – Digital copy instantly. Your physical card is mailed the day after it’s printed.
❓ FAQ (The Stuff Everyone Asks)
My card already expired. Can I still renew?
Depends on the date. If it expired on or after May 3, 2026 and it’s been under a year, yes: you can still renew with this course (the Local Law 10 grace period). The card can’t be used on a jobsite until your renewal is finished and your new card is issued. If your Supervisor card expired before May 3, 2026, you need the 32-Hour Supervisor course, not this refresher. Your OSHA 30 still counts there: the 5-year OSHA limit doesn’t apply on the Supervisor path. Not sure which side you’re on? Text a photo of your card to (646) 494-5575 before you buy.
Can I do the 32-Hour course again instead?
Sure, if you hate yourself. But the 16-Hour renewal is literally designed for people in your situation. Save yourself the time.
What if I don’t remember anything from the original course?
You’ve been supervising for 5 years. You know way more than you think. This course will jog your memory on the technical stuff.
Is this mobile-friendly?
Yes. Camera required for verification, but the course works on phones, tablets, whatever.
How long do I actually have?
16 hours minimum. The NYC DOB tracks time. You can’t speed through it. Most people spread it over a week.
What happens if I don’t renew before it expires?
Your card lapses. You can’t legally supervise NYC construction sites. Inspectors notice. Projects get shut down. Your boss has questions. Avoid all this – just renew.
