## Local Law 196 Overview

Local Law 196 of 2017 requires workers and supervisors on most NYC construction sites to complete Site Safety Training (SST) and carry an SST card issued by the NYC DOB. Workers need 10 hours of training; supervisors need 32 hours. Cards are valid for 5 years from the date the card is issued (the issuance/expiration date shown on the card), not from the course-completion date.
