This 4-hour online course, designed for worker training, fulfills the requirement for individuals to use or work on a Supported Scaffold in New York City and grants credit towards an SST card. The program is self-paced, allowing trainees to progress at their own speed through a comprehensive curriculum. The course content includes an introduction to supported scaffold types and their major components, common causes and prevention of supported scaffold accidents, an overview of relevant OSHA 1926 Safety & Health Regulations for Construction, and an in-depth look at NYC Construction Codes with an emphasis on scaffold sections (3314) and the NYC Department of Buildings’ website and resources. Furthermore, it covers general principles of fall protection, personal protective equipment and fall arrest systems (PFAS), safe use of supported scaffolds, and detailed supported scaffold inspection procedures.
