This is the 10-hour Site Safety Training course the NYC DOB requires before you can work on certain construction sites. You already signed up. Now let’s get you through it and get you that card.
What You’ll Learn
This course covers two things:
- Part 1: Fall Prevention (8 hours) – How to not fall off stuff. Scaffolding, ladders, edges, openings, personal fall arrest systems. The stuff that actually keeps you alive on a job site.
- Part 2: Drug & Alcohol Awareness (2 hours) – What the DOB requires you to know about showing up to work sober. Company policies, impairment risks, the legal side.
How This Works
The course is self-paced. Do it all at once or break it up over a few days. Up to you.
Course Structure
- Watch the lessons – 11 video lessons total (9 in Part 1, 2 in Part 2)
- Take the concept quizzes – Short quizzes after each lesson to make sure you’re paying attention
- Pass the Final Exam – 17 questions, need 70% to pass, unlimited retakes if you don’t get it the first time
Final Exam Details
- 17 multiple-choice questions
- 70% passing score (12 out of 17 correct)
- Unlimited attempts – if you fail, review the material and try again
- Open book – you can reference the lessons while taking it
After You Pass — Card Processing Included
Your enrollment includes full SST card processing and mailing at no extra charge. Once you complete the course and pass the final exam:
- We verify your completion within 1-2 business days
- We upload your record to the NYC DOB Training Connect system
- We email your digital SST card (PDF) for immediate use
- We print and mail your physical SST card free of charge — a $60 value

This Course Meets NYC DOB Requirements
This training is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings and satisfies the 10-hour Site Safety Training requirement under Local Law 196 of 2017. It’s also accredited by IACET (International Accreditation for Continuing Education and Training) – in case your employer asks.
